Obituary

Billy John "Red" Keck passed from this life on June 10, 2022, at the age of 94. He was born May 10, 1928, to Orie and Agnes (McAdoo) Keck in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

After graduating from high school in Ada, Oklahoma he enlisted in the Army and became a military policeman in Peping, China. Upon returning to the states, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas and helped construct Convair B-36 planes. Upon returning home to Ada, Oklahoma he met and married the love of his life Naomi Lee O'Brien. Together they had four children, John Keck (Albuquerque), David Keck (Shirley) Aztec, New Mexico, Karen Heath (Gary) Farmington, New Mexico and Marianne Keck, Farmington, New Mexico.

He moved his family to Farmington, New Mexico in 1957 to work in the HVAC and sheet metal industry. His life was shattered in 1964 when he lost his wife to cancer. As he had promised Naomi, he then spent the rest of his years raising his children and being their best friend, counselor, and confidant. He kept the memories of their mother alive with all his amazing stories, a gift beyond words. He loved his grandchildren: Noreen Rich, Breanna Keck, Kristine Keck, Katie Keck, Kimberly Keck, Cassady (Heath) and Jacob Eppinga, Melissa (Heath) and Dillon Parker, Matthew and Lex Heath, Allyson Parkinson, Robert Lopez, and his twelve great grandchildren.

Our father was a kind and gentle man who instilled in his children honesty, integrity, and a very strong work ethic. He taught us his love of cooking, gardening, music, fishing, and reading. He will truly be missed. Our comfort lies in knowing that he had been reunited with the love of his life.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 17, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute Street, Farmington, New Mexico.
