Robert Z. Massey

September 21, 1950 — January 16, 2024

Farmington

A beloved Dad and Uncle, Robert Z. Massey, passed away on January 16th, 2024, at the age of 73.

Robert was born in Farmington, NM, on Sept. 21, 1950. His parents were Joseph and Stella Jo Massey. His sister was Donna. Robert graduated from Farmington High School. He completed some college. He met his first wife, Sheri Purvis, at Farmington H.S. They wed in 1971. Robert and Sheri had three children, Brandon, Jennifer, and Chadwick. They divorced in 1977.

Robert was a truck driver and could describe many interstates around the country. He lived in Grand Junction, CO, for a few years, but mostly resided in Farmington for his life. In recent years, he sold fire wood and kept many of his neighbors stocked with wood to burn during the cold winters. He enjoyed reading James Patterson novels and watching sports in his free time. He especially liked the Connie Mack World Series. Robert liked to stay fit by swimming at the local pool and chopping wood. He looked forward to celebrations at Clint and Sherry’s home and visiting with his son and daughter when they were in Durango. Robert read the entire Bible at least ten times. He texted Bible verses to his friends and family. He watched Calvary Church services when they were televised. He asked Jesus to watch over him each day in his journals. Jesus is now watching over him for eternity.

Robert is survived by son, Brandon; daughter, Jennifer; nephew, Stephan; nephew, Clint; and six grandchildren, Christian, Connor, Paulina, Ethan, Michael, and Witten.

His funeral will be held at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral home on Saturday, February 17th at 3pm.
