Richard James Peterson

Richard James Peterson, 90, of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away on December 12, 2023. Born on January 12, 1933, in Neola, Utah, to Kate and Thurman Peterson. Richard was raised in Neola, Utah, and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He met and married Marlene Anderson in 1956. They lived in Vernal UT for 2 years, then moved to Farmington in 1958. He worked at Aztec Well Service for 42 years doing various jobs, and retired as drilling superintendent in 2009.

Richard is survived by his wife Marlene Peterson, sons, Stewart Peterson (Nicole) of Gold Canyon, AZ, Craig Peterson (Sheri) of Farmington, NM, Mike Peterson (Bree) of Mesa, AZ, and Rick Peterson of McKinney, TX. He is survived by his 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Ann Pickup (Lyle) Salt Lake City, UT, and Karen Petersen (Dale) Castle Rock, CO.

A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Brewer Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute Street, Farmington, NM. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the LDS chapel at 400 West Apache Street in Farmington.
