Marina Thaxton

Marina Thaxton also known to many as "Nana" passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 8th just before noon alongside her family and beloved dog, Kevin. Born in Lumberton, NM to Angelina & Prestation Herrera she made her way as a teenager to finish high school in Ohio where she would go on to meet her late husband Cletus Everett Thaxton. Together they made a life full of memories with a beautiful family and friends in Bloomfield, NM where Marina was a dedicated cashier at Furr's Supermarket and Sun Ray Park and Casino. She never turned down a trip to the casino, a bingo night or a shopping trip to Dillards. She was also known to dance the night away to some good ol New Mexico Music and Mariachis.


Marina is survived by her children, Angie Weyrauch, Sherry Mcknight (Duane), Connie Lowe (Ray) and Michael Thaxton (Victor). Her grandchildren, Nerrisa Morales (Christian), Nicholas Weyrauch (Anneliese), Mario Weyrauch (Kaycee), and Aaron Lowe. Great Grand Children, Mariah, Hallee, Klaus and Millie Rose. She is also survived by sister, Louisa Lotrich and brother Dennis Herrera (Vangie). Sister In Laws, Lillian Thaxton and Susan Thaxton. Brother in Law Ernie Tracey and Gerald Houchin.


Marina is proceeded in death by her Grandson, Gabriel Lowe, Husband Cletus Thaxton and Parents Angelina and Presestation Herrerra. Brothers and Sisters, Antonio, Prestation, Delfin, Gilbert, Tessie and Ann. In LawS, Wendall and Mary Thaxton and in laws Lucille, Dorothy, Lois, Howard, Frank, Patrica, Nestor, Stella and Mary.


Services will be on June 7, 2024 at St. Mary's Church in Bloomfield with confessions beginning at 8:30am, Rosery at 9 am followed by funeral mass at 10am. She will be laid to rest at Bloomfiled Catholic Cemetery followed by a reception at St. Mary's Parish Hall. In, lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
