On Tuesday, January 1, 2019, Frances Lucille Waite passed away in Farmington, NM, due to complications from Parkinson's. She is survived by her husband, James Michael, her seven children-Michael (Sheri), Lane (Torie), Chad (Julie), Brett (Laura), Melissa (Scott Berkley), Lacey, and Holly (Steve Bayley)-28 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Born on April 5, 1040 in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua Mexico to Antonio and Lucille (Whetten) Brown, Frances was the third of five children. She was a rancher's daughter and grew up in Mexico, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. She graduated high school in Grants, New Mexico and met Mike while attending Brigham Young University. They were married on November 17, 1961 in Mesa, Arizona. Most of their married life was spent in Farmington, NM.

Frances lived a full and energetic life, raising a large family and providing many hours of service in her community and church in various teaching and leadership positions. She enjoyed travel and loved working in her flowerbeds. Frances served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at church historical sites with her husband Mike. She bore the challenges of her declining health with courage, grace, and good humor and was happiest with her family around her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Farmington, New Mexico at the LDS Chapel on 400 W. Apache Street. Services begin at 10:00 am. A viewing and an opportunity to visit with the family will be held Friday, January 4, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home (103 E. Ute Street). Interment will be in Memory Gardens of Farmington, NM.
