Domitila Valdez Alire

Domitila Valdez Alire, 91, of Farmington, New Mexico passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 in Farmington, New Mexico. She was born March 5, 1932 in Cebolla, New Mexico to Vicentita and Antonio Valdez.

Domy graduated from Tierra Amarilla high school in 1950, married Willie Alire in November, 1954 then moved to Las Vegas, NM. She moved to Dulce, NM and then to Chama, NM where she raised her three children. After a 26 year career with the Village of Chama she moved to Farmington, NM where she lived the last 25 years of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents Vicentita and Antonio, her brother Tony and her sisters Edwina and Mary. She is survived by her brothers Adriano and Arturo, her son Xavier Alire, her daughters Mona Blagg (Jeff) and Denise Alire (Mary), her grandchildren Michaelann Tartis (John), Stephanie Alire, Zacharay Alire and Justin Alire Henry, and her great-grandchildren James Tartis, Ryan Tartis and Sophia Dotson.

Domy was very loving to her church, her family and her friends and will be greatly missed by all.

Private cremation has taken place. A funeral mass and interment will ensue in Cebolla, NM on March 2nd , 2024.
