Darlene Oen

Darlene Oen (87) went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 29, 2024 in Aztec, NM. She was born to Burl and Bernice Speer (Gartin) on April 23, 1937 in Ignacio, Colorado. She is preceded in death by both parents, step-father, Bernard Gartin; son, Deryl Roller; brother, Dwain Speer, sisters, Erma Lucille Speer and Yvonne Chapman. She is survived by sons Charles Roller and Daniel (Louise) Roller, and daughter Earlanda (Chad) Houghton, three grandsons and three granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren.

The family moved to Farmington, NM in 1947, where Darlene spent most of her life, but also lived in Los Angeles and Seattle. Mom loved to travel with her Diamond Tours friends. She also throughly enjoyed walking at Berg Park. She spent countless hours volunteering in the park, bird watching and working in her yard.

The family would like to thank Deann with Basin Hospice for her compassion and prayers, you were such a blessing to us! We would also like to thank the staff at Crane's Roost in Aztec for the loving care given to our mom for the last months of her life. We are eternally grateful to all of you!
