Bernard (Bernie) Ray Ricks, 83, of Farmington, New Mexico (formerly Gallup, New Mexico), passed away on July 28, 2019 in Farmington, New Mexico. He was born in Cadiz, Kentucky on July 29, 1936 to Vernon and Gertrude Ricks and also the family included sisters, Louise Ezell and Betty Winfield.
Bernie joined the United States Air Force in 1954 and was stationed at the Continental Divide as a radar technician. There he met the love of his life the former Faun Adair. They enjoyed a fruitful marriage of almost 64 years and had three beautiful children. Bernie was later employed as an operator for El Paso Natural Gas at the Wingate Plant. He loved sports, and coached his son in Little League Baseball. He also enjoyed bowling and hunting. He was a lifetime member of BPO Elks. After retirement, he and Faun enjoyed cruising, having travelled on over 44 cruises to various countries.
Bernard is preceded in death by daughter Brenda Kay Ricks; and parents Vernon and Gertrude Ricks.
He is survived by wife Faun Ricks; son Roger Ricks (Peggy); daughter Rae Lynn Spencer (John); grandchildren Bradley White (Alice), John Travis Spencer (Melinda), Ryan Ricks (Killeen), Melissa Reeves (Kyle) Galina Tyler Spencer; great grandchildren Nadia White, Katherine Spencer, Kolton Reeves, Samantha Spencer, and Bryce Reeves.
