Arthur Veach (A.V.) Duncan 95.
A.V. a long-time resident of San Juan County went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 28, 2024, after a courageous battle with dementia.
A.V. was born in Hope, NM on August 12, 1928. His family moved to Glen Cove, TX when he was a young man where he lived with his parents. A.V. was the last surviving sibling of 12.
Coleman County TX is where he grew up and started his career in woodworking and home building. A.V. continued that line of work after moving to New Mexico in 1960. He went on to work at Aztec Lumber Construction Supply and Basin Supply while supplementing his income with saw sharpening and locksmithing. A.V. also had many hobbies that kept him busy including metal detecting, rock hounding, gardening, fishing, and traveling. However, there was nothing more important than his family.
A.V. met his wife Patricia of 73 years on a home building job site in Coleman, TX. It all started when he whistled at her walking down the street and the rest is history.
A.V. and Patricia raised four children: Gary (Kay) of Farmington, NM; Jack (Debra) of Evergreen, CO; Cindy (Alan) of Bloomfield, NM; and Kelly (Gail) of Johnstown, CO. This led to 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A.V. was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy and grandson Marc.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Brewer Lee & Larkin Funeral Home on April 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM followed by a private family burial.
